We finished lambing this morning with a surprise from a first time mom, and the one I was most concerned about. Went out to the barn at 5:30 to find her cleaning up a set of twins. What a champ of a mom!!! In 11 years of raising sheep, this is only the 3rd birth I’ve missed.
This years tally
6 ewe lambs, our first year being girl heavy!
1 ram lamb
2 white lambs
2 moorit lambs
3 black lambs
3 sets of twins
1 single
1 breech
3 stuck heads
I only had to pull 4 LOL
Everyone is happy, healthy, nursing well with the exception of Bogas who is still getting supplemental bottles, and nobody is showing signs of any kind of post-partum infections. Once they are all big enough to keep up with moms, I’ll turn them back out with the rest of the flock, then the great barn clean up happens. A few of these babies will be going to new homes when they are ready to go also.
Now I can sleep all night! Yeah like that happens in real life-NOT
Enjoy the pics!
Thank you for coming along for the ride this year with us!!
Blessed Be!
Job well down by all.
Congratulations!!! Love you!
