The lump of crud ended up on the barn floor. The lump on the gauze is a piece of hay debris. LOL!!

I'm with Idlewild Farm: pictures?? Okay, I'm the twisted kind and like this kind of stuff, lol. My Arabian did way more than his share of it.
Great job on the part of you, Michael, and your vet. Tully was awesome to hold mostly quiet too.
