I used to go to Black Sheep in Eugene and Oregon Flock and Fiber in Canby. I've moved, but I will no longer go to Fiber Festivals. After the name calling nastiness at Ravelry, I have no desire to see if someone objects to my politics. It is a shame because it destroyed the fiber community and the ability to just enjoy sharing craft

Ravelry certainly did major damage to the fiber community. It has not been my experience with Estes Park that politics has played a part in their weekend of events. I have never once had anybody discuss it with me. I’ve gone to Estes over the past 15 years but missed a few in that time.

I know. But the problem was that you couldn't tell what would happen without actually going. And many of us didn't want to risk it. They deliberately tried to ruin small businesses and you were attacked for just saying that was wrong. Far easier to stay home and order from those smart enough to keep their politics separate from their business. It is a shame

A great journey into the work and commitment from sheep to shawl.

It's a great community of agriculture and artists. 👏 Thank you.
