First and foremost, welcome to all the new subscribers! I hope you will enjoy visiting my little farm!! Looking forward to having you here. I am 9 away from 200!!!! Ah, fair week! The week when young and old come together to show what they have done over the past year. What they have learned, and what skills they have developed. Kids show their cows, sheep, rabbits, chickens. and pigs off to judges hoping for that coveted grand champion ribbon. Where young men and women show off their horsemanship skills in the rodeo area hoping to bring home the All Around Champion saddle.
My dad had a pet Rambouillet ewe who lived to be 17! As long as your old girl is happy to see you and participates in all her sheep activities, I’d say she’s earned a little assistance. But, easy for me to say, I am not the one having to help her up! I wonder if any of the creaky joint supplements we give humans (turmeric!) or horses would help? Ruminant’s digestive systems are different, so it’s hard to predict what would sooth the pain without upsetting the systems that are still working. She has such a sweet sheepie expression, as my mom used to say. I am in the ‘love sheep’ camp.
Thank you for your vote of confidence. I am planning to ask my vet if something like the dog joint suppliments would work for her. She's not too hard to help up. I get the back end up and she gets the front.
Your letters are warm, honest and most informative. I look forward to every new post. I am so proud of you!
Thank you, i'm glad you enjoy them! Love you more
Happy to get a Lucy update. Putting my best wishes on her.
Thank you!
County fairs are the best!

She’s lucky that you have her back, so to speak.
